Gagaku-Integrated Asian Performing Arts

　Gagaku is one of the traditional court/ritual performing arts in Japan.

　 However most of dance pieces were imported from ancient Asian countries such as China,Korea,Vietnam,India,etc.more than 1300 years ago.

　Nobles, monks and musicians in Japan have handed down Gagaku in the imperial court, Shintoism Jinjas and Buddhism temples for a long time.

Togaku,Komagaku,Kuniburi-no-utamai

Gagaku can be categorized into three groups as follows.

1)Togaku(唐楽);programs imported via China.

2)Komagaku(高麗楽); programs imported via Korea.

3)Kuniburi-no-utamai(国風歌舞);programs of Japanese native vocal music and dance.

Even in Japan, most of Japanese think "Gagaku is Japanese original arts".

But in fact,Gagaku is exactly filled with the international atmosphere.
